I finally posted on my blog again! And this post will be a good one!
Rome
Rome is a beautiful city, with ancient buildings all over! You would see sellers on the streets and sometimes some street artists. The street sellers sell jewelry, and sometimes hats, shoes, toys, and little souvenirs. The street artists make themselves look like statues while others make little models out of long thick plants. And yes, Rome is wonderful.
Anyway, in Rome we rented an apartment for 5 days and mostly explored. And the trains made good transportation. And like I said, we explored. We also saw this really cool place! It it called the Vatican.
It was mostly made of marble and is about 500 years old and was in REALLY good shape. I saw this one room where they have coffins! Actually, they were coffins and bathtubs. 😛 When the rulers died they burned them into ashes and put their ashes into a jar. They put the jar into the coffin. But when the Christians took over they used the coffin for baptism. After we went to the Vatican we went to look at a part of the building where you learn about ancient Egypt. I got to see a real mummy! He was pretty disgusting! I kinda felt like he would come alive because he looked so real. We also got to see the “Sistine Chapel”!!! Which was smaller than I expected. I got to see the really famous pictures! And, it really hurt my neck to look up for so long. But it was amazing. We also went to St. Peter’s Basilica where we saw these really cool statues and mosaics. In St. Peter’s Basilica, there is a statue of St. Peter. If you touch the toes of the St. Peter’s statue they say you get good luck for the rest of the year! Another really cool thing I saw in Rome was the Trevi Fountain. It was mostly made of marble and had carved picture of Neptune/the god of the sea, on a giant seashell.

Thanks for reading this post! I will be writing another one soon.
