We went to Chiang Rai and it was fun! It took a three hour drive to get from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai. We stayed in a hotel called Diamond Park Inn. We didn’t do much in Chiang Rai we just relaxed. But we went to a hill tribe museum and learned all about the hill tribes. One of the tribes put rings around their necks to make their necks look longer. The other tribes wear cool clothes. It takes about one year for some hill tribes to make an outfit. We also went to a flower garden with beautiful flowers. The flower garden used to be the king’s private garden. There was wonderful design in the garden. There was a waterfall and a flower bridge orchid garden, water fountain, rock garden, it was amazing! We also went swimming at our hotel. It was fun! Marie lost her swimming suit so Marie swam in mom’s underwear! Don’t worry about Marie’s swimming suit, she got it back.
After we were done with Chiang Rai we went back to Chiang Mai. We took a three hour drive with our taxi driver not understanding English. It was a challenge. We went to a Thanksgiving feast in Chaing Mai. I met some friends at the Thanksgiving feast, had wonderful pumpkin pie, and had a great time! We went to the balloon festival, too. I got up at five in the morning to go to the hot air balloon festival. I saw the hot air balloons take off! It was amazing! And I saw a light show with the balloons flashing really fast and followed the beat of the music. I also went to the floating lantern festival. It was amazing too. It was exactly like the lanterns in Tangled, except bigger! And it was a lot more amazing that I got to launch it! It was the best festival I ever had! I almost fainted when I saw the lanterns float up! It was like a cartoon coming to life!
I also went to the zoo! It was fun. I fed a hippo some potatoes and the hippo opened his mouth so big! The hippo had really brown teeth! I heard that in the wild, birds clean hippos teeth but here I don’t think the birds do a very good job! The birds probably don’t like eating spit and dirt on a hippos tooth. Aysia went to ride a baby hippo! Don’t get exited, the hippo was a statue. I also saw some squirrel monkeys! Luna was a squirrel monkey. I took care of Luna at a rescue center when I volunteered. If you want to volunteer at the rescue center you at least have to be eight years old. If you don’t know what I’m talking about look at this post. I saw gibbons too! Gibbons are monkeys that come in orange or black and have a white spot of hair on their face. I saw penguins, and in a video on the T.V. I saw a penguin taking care of a baby penguin. I also saw a penguin swimming in the manmade pool. I also saw some pandas in a panda house and they were really cute! I also saw a playground and I joined my friend in a see saw contest between a grown adult and eight kids! MY team didn’t win!
I hope you enjoyed my post! Here are pictures for you to look at.
