What a fun birthday you had! I love the elephants – they seem so sweet. The one you were helping to brush/wash really seemed to enjoy it.

It’s also really fun to see how you make Aysia laugh. I bet she loves you lots and lots.

Your birthday cake looked delicious. What did you wish? 🙂

Oh – and how many towels did it take to make an elephant towel?

Such a fun birthday for you, and all of us who joined in the fun. 🙂 I really enjoyed spending time with the sweet elephants too. They are so friendly! Wow, you are nine years old already? Amazing!

  8. Dad says:

Happy Birthday Emily! I’m glad we could share the day with you and enjoy being so close to these amazing animals. It’s sad to think about how many elephants die from deforestation, but I’m glad places like this have saved the elephants and also made it possible for us to see them. Hope it’s a birthday you’ll always remember. Love you!

[…] When we asked Emily what she wanted for her 9th birthday, she said she wanted to ride elephants. The Elephant Safari Park in Bali is a beautiful facility with opportunities to ride, bathe, learn about, and interact with these sweet animals. We all had a wonderful time, and even got picked up by an “elephant taxi” for dinner. It’s many times more expensive than riding elephants in Malaysia or Thailand, but was an amazing experience and a great way to spend a birthday. Read what Emily has to say about it here. […]
